Uyghur Genocide - CIA or CCP?

Uyghur Genocide - CIA or CCP?

Sunday, April 28, 2024

When dismissing the human rights violations in East Turkistan (called Xinjiang by China), many deniers bring up Nayirah’s testimony before the United States Congressional Human Rights Caucus in 1990 about Iraqi soldiers removing babies out of incubators in hospitals. Her testimony was ultimately false and untrue. As it turns out, Nayirah was the daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador to the United States. So is this example relevant to the Uyghur genocide? “You are falling for CIA propaganda! This is Iraq all over again!” is what people like Caleb Maupin, Jackson Hinkle, and other CCP propagandists say when “debunking” the human rights violations in East Turkistan. What is happening in East Turkistan is far different from Iraq, and the major difference is that it is not 1 testimony coming from Uyghurs; there are tens of thousands of documented testimonies on the Xinjiang Victims Database. A single testimony in the 1990s is no way comparable to thousands of testimonies and undeniable evidence in the age of social media and the internet.

In constant efforts to undermine Uyghur advocacy groups around the world, the CCP and their shills often point to the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). This non-profit NGO has a troubled, corrupt past and has been an instrument of United States foreign policy helping to foster regime change. NED even played a role in supporting the Arab Spring of 2011. However, NED’s role with certain Uyghur advocacy organizations needs context. To set the record straight, the NED has awarded $8,758,300 to Uyghur groups, which has helped each group grow over the years. Uyghurs initially turned to Muslim groups and government organizations but were turned down. They needed an advocacy network and funding to survive and spread the message of Uyghur victims, and NED was all they had. NED's interest had little to do with Uyghurs and more to do with opposing China as China has become America's global rival in recent years. No one is denying that NED has politically fueled motivations. And no one is denying that NED is corrupt. But to claim that the genocide is fake because some Uyghur groups accepted these funds out of desperation is a wildly ridiculous logical leap. Such a claim has no basis in reality. The UN Report and all the evidence on the ground proves the claims of human rights violations are legitimate, so we should analyze this cultural genocide independent of the competing interests of global entities trying to either cover it up or weaponize it for geopolitical reasons. But if these CCP propagandists really want to talk about funding, then we should uncover the whole story.

What CCP propagandists conveniently leave out when talking about funding is that these shills who defend China also receive funding. A monthlong investigation carried out by New Lines uncovered that from 2017 to 2022, $65,000,000 had been filtered through various entities connected with people who have defended the Chinese government and downplayed or denied documented human rights violations. To be less obvious, the funding moved through a complex series of mostly tax-deductible investment funds and charities, all linked one man: Neville Roy Singham.

Singham is supporter of Maoism and has helped fund causes and groups that promote pro-Chinese Government messages over the years in multiple countries. Compared to the NED’s $8.6 million, that is a lot less than the $65 million CCP propagandists are receiving over a course of only 5 years. Groups like Code Pink, who have received millions of dollars from Singham, say they fear that the U.S. is weaponizing the Uyghur cause to promote a Cold War with China. Of course, the U.S. and it’s entities do not care for Uyghurs; just look at the country’s history of human rights violations and foreign policies, but that doesn’t make the Uyghur cause illegitimate. Although we have overwhelming evidence of human rights violations, this is where the CCP and it’s propagandists come in. Western “Anti-imperialists” gladly deny any wrongdoing by China while being paid handsomely by the government. Every time you see an English-speaking political analyst talking about how the Uyghur genocide is "CIA Propaganda", realize that there is a financial incentive for them doing this. There are thousands of testimonies, pictures, videos, police records, leaked government documentation and other forms of evidence to prove that what’s happening to Uyghurs right now is not a “Western Psyop” but an outright attack on an ethnic minority. As they say, “follow the money”, and the only profitable side is the pro-China side that denies human suffering.
